Nirvana The Specimen Cat Lake offers an exclusive catfishing experience for serious anglers, with fish reaching up to 85lb. This one-acre lake features two spacious, wood-chipped swims and an accessible concrete pad, all connected by a social area with a bench. A sloped path from the car park ensures easy access. Designed for comfort and community, the layout allows anglers to enjoy their session while staying close to others. The lake is best suited for experienced anglers, while beginners are advised to start at Cat & Carp Lake 1. All bookings are made through Go Catch, and reading the rules on their website is mandatory before fishing. To succeed here, anglers should use robust tackle, 12-inch rigs with tubing, running leads, and size 2 extra-strong wide gape hooks. Halibut pellets, meat, fishy boilies, and yellow pop-ups work well, especially when paired with heavy free offerings or large PVA mesh bags of pellets. Drawing in prey fish can also boost success, as catfish are curious predators. A tarpaulin at the water’s edge is recommended to help with safe landing and release. Prepare for a battle, these cats fight like a freight train.
