About

A former trout lake and completely unspoilt match venue, Beeches is matured with reed beds and trees offering a unique character unlike typical commercial fisheries. Situated in the top right-hand corner of the site, this 4-acre water features two small arms plus a main bowl section, ensuring every peg offers different fishing opportunities. The lake varies in depth between 4 feet and 6 feet throughout, with 37 well-spaced pegs providing over 16 metres between each angler. The natural features including reeds, trees and varying depths make this an interesting and challenging water that rewards tactical thinking and adapting to conditions. The fish in Beeches are notoriously hard fighting, particularly when hooked in the margins near reed cover, so heavy pole gear and quick reactions are essential to land them successfully.

Species

Barbel, Bream, Carp, Chub, F1 Carp, Ide, Perch, Roach, Rudd, Tench

Favoured Pegs

The pegs in the bowl are usually the most consistent, especially in the winter months, and these are numbered 7-16 and 30. Both 16 and 30 are situated on points and carp can be taken on both the pole and bomb here. Peg 27 is one of the best pegs, facing the islands reeds, and peg 21 can also produce plenty of fish at certain times of year. In the first arm, pegs 1, 3 and 36 are all very good, especially down the edges.
