About
If you are looking for peace and tranquillity in your angling, this is the water for you. Conservation Lake is one of the latest venues to be added to the expanding SWS portfolio. Located within the Leybourne Lakes Country Park, it was created as a wetland back in the 2000s for wading birds, but soon turned into a lake after several water main bursts. The makeup is quite unique, being 4.5 acres in size, with most of the lake depth between 3 to 4 feet, it has many humps and bars, weed beds, silty gullies and a clay bottom. Unlike our other waters, Conservation Lake is fenced off from the public and is kept under lock and key. The lake facilitates all angling abilities, offering 17 swims with a trackway leading to each swim, one being a comfortable double, perfect for a social, small bays ideal for stalking opportunities, and a large, redlined section at both ends of the lake which can be fished to. The lake is home to a mix of silver fish, tench, perch & around 120 carp, with the average size being mid doubles, with the largest fish weighing to high 20s.
