Cottington Lakes is one of Kent's premier fishing destinations, set amongst 45 acres of peaceful woodland just outside Deal. This hidden treasure features 8 diverse lakes offering quality angling for everyone from novices to experienced specimen carp enthusiasts. The fishery has earned recognition as a top 10 carp fishery by Big Carp Magazine readers, with the stunning setting providing a haven for birds and wildlife. The fishery offers an impressive variety of waters including the renowned Lake Pepper (7 acres with 200+ carp including 14 fish over 40lbs), the intimate Christine Lake (3.5 acres with carp to 40lbs+), and the productive Black Lake (32 pegs of mixed coarse fishing). Additional waters include Heron Lake (6 pegs, carp to 28lbs), Windsor Lake (24 pegs of pleasure fishing), Elliot Lake (20 pegs with crucian carp to 3lbs), and the well-stocked Match Lake (30 pegs). Species present include common and mirror carp, grass carp, tench to 6lbs, bream to 3lbs, roach to 5lbs, perch to 3lbs, chub, rudd, and quality crucian carp. The fishery features extensive facilities including the on-site AKC Bait and Tackle shop providing equipment, advice and day tickets, Lake House Kitchen café (open Fri-Sun 8am-4pm), dedicated car parks throughout the complex ensuring easy swim access, and comprehensive camping facilities. The campsite offers 18 pitches with electric hookup plus additional non-electric pitches, with toilets and shower blocks cleaned daily. Both traditional and modern carping techniques work well across the waters, with the tackle shop staff always happy to provide current advice on effective tactics and baits.
