About

Situated in the picturesque countryside near Doncaster, Lindholme Lakes Country Park stands as the North's finest match and day ticket fishery, offering over 450 meticulously maintained pegs spread across ten exceptional lakes. Owned and operated by Neil, Beverley and Aaron Grantham, this award-winning venue has established itself as a premier destination for both competitive match angling and pleasure fishing. The fishery earned the prestigious "Stillwater of the Year" award from Angling Times in 2013 and continues to be a regular host for major national events including Fish O' Mania, Maver Match This and Angling Trust National Championships. The venue regularly welcomes some of the biggest names in the sport, including legends Alan Scotthorne, Tommy Pickering and Bob Nudd, who have all praised the quality of the fishing and facilities. The ten lakes offer incredible variety, from the showcase Bonsai Lake with its 85 pegs and venue record of 321lb 8oz, to the specimen water Loco Lake which is home to carp over 28lb and pike to the same weight. Each water has been carefully designed and stocked to provide consistent sport throughout the year, with depths ranging from 3 feet to 12 feet and features including islands, reed beds, arms, bays and open water sections. The fishery holds an exceptional stock of fish including carp to over 28lb, huge heads of F1 carp, quality bream, tench, barbel, perch over 4lb, and a wide variety of silverfish species. Match weights are consistently impressive, with the current venue record standing at 427lb from Bennys Lake, demonstrating the incredible potential of these waters. The fishery caters for every level of angler from complete beginners to seasoned professionals, with waters specifically suited to different styles and abilities. Beyond the exceptional fishing, Lindholme Lakes has developed into a complete country park destination offering far more than just angling. The comprehensive on-site facilities include a well-stocked tackle shop carrying major brands such as Drennan Garbolino, Shimano, Sonu Baits, Dynamite Baits, Guru and Matrix, with regular special offers available. The café serves delicious full English breakfasts, hot food throughout the day, and operates a fully licensed bar with function room facilities. Accommodation options are extensive, featuring luxury Omar lodges available for purchase or holiday rental on the lakefront Oasis development, plus a touring caravan site with pitches available from single nights to annual stays, and ample camping facilities. Professional coaching is available through resident angler Alex Dockerty, a Drennan and Dynamite Baits sponsored match angler who offers sessions ranging from a few hours to full days including bait and day ticket. The site also features a children's play park, laundrette, comprehensive shower and toilet blocks, and is home to wildlife including American miniature donkeys and the famous Muscovy duck Elvis with his family, making it an ideal family-friendly fishing destination.

Day Ticket£10

A former trout lake and completely unspoilt match venue, Beeches is matured with reed beds and trees offering a unique character unlike typical commercial fisheries. Situated in the top right-hand corner of the site, this 4-acre water features two small arms plus a main bowl section, ensuring every peg offers different fishing opportunities. The lake varies in depth between 4 feet and 6 feet throughout, with 37 well-spaced pegs providing over 16 metres between each angler. The natural features including reeds, trees and varying depths make this an interesting and challenging water that rewards tactical thinking and adapting to conditions. The fish in Beeches are notoriously hard fighting, particularly when hooked in the margins near reed cover, so heavy pole gear and quick reactions are essential to land them successfully.

If non-stop action and constant bites are what you're after, then Bennys Lake delivers in spectacular fashion as Lindholme's mega match venue and most recently developed water. This impressive 8.5-acre lake was formerly a specimen carp lake and then a trout fishery, but in 2014 it was opened up and transformed into an incredible match venue that has quickly established itself as a favorite among pleasure anglers and match competitors alike. Bennys has been primarily stocked with a huge number of F1 carp which average between 4 ounces and 8 ounces, running up to over 2lb, providing the kind of hectic sport where catches of 200 to 400 fish in a single session during summer months are entirely realistic. The lake features 60 well-maintained pegs with depths ranging from 4 to 8 feet just a few metres from the bank, increasing to around 10 to 12 feet of water in the middle sections. This water is particularly suited to pleasure fishing and is absolutely perfect for beginners, children, and anyone wanting to build confidence and improve their skills in an environment where bites are almost guaranteed. The current lake record stands at an incredible 427lb set by Andy Bennett from peg 28, demonstrating the sheer quantity of fish present.

Lindholme's showcase water and most popular lake for competition angling, Bonsai underwent a full makeover in 2022 and now represents the pinnacle of commercial match fishing. Visitors pass this impressive 4.5-acre water as they enter the fishery, immediately seeing why it hosts major events and attracts anglers from across the country. The lake features 85 exceptionally well-maintained pegs across its three acres, with an incredible 90% of these pegs having an island feature to fish to at distances ranging between 13 metres and 30 metres away, ensuring every single peg offers different tactical options. Depths vary considerably from 3 feet in the shallower areas up to 10 feet in the deeper sections, providing year-round fishing opportunities as fish move between different depth zones according to conditions and seasons. This is where the current venue record of 321lb 8oz was set by Andy Bennett in July 2014 from peg 24, demonstrating the incredible potential this water holds for specimen weights.
