About

Conveniently located in the heart of the Midlands, Marston Fields Fishery stands as one of the country's premier commercial match fishing venues. The fishery caters for every level of angler, from beginners to seasoned professionals, offering both competitive match angling and enjoyable pleasure fishing across five carefully constructed lakes. What truly sets this venue apart is the exceptional accessibility, with anglers able to park their vehicles directly behind their pegs on all lakes, eliminating the need to carry tackle long distances. The venue is situated just moments from the UK's major motorway network, making it easily accessible from across the Midlands and beyond. The fishery comprises five distinct lakes totalling 172 pegs, each offering unique fishing opportunities. Willow features 32 pegs with depths of 6-8 feet and holds carp from 1lb to 20lb plus roach and skimmers. Sycamore is the largest lake with 50 pegs arranged in a rectangular layout with a central island, stocked with carp ranging from 2lb to 20lb. Elm offers 36 pegs in the shallowest water at an average of 5 feet, specifically targeting specimen carp of 10lb plus. Oak provides 28 pegs with mainly smaller carp from 2lb to 6lb alongside roach, skimmers and rudd. The recently remodelled Laurels has been transformed into a 26-peg snake lake averaging 14.5 metres wide and 3.5 feet deep, holding carp to 8lb, F1s, bream and quality silvers. The venue excels in facilities with an on-site tackle shop stocked with a comprehensive range of baits, consumables and fishing tackle. Hot and cold food and drinks are served throughout opening hours, with both indoor and outdoor seating areas available for anglers to relax. Friendly and experienced staff are always on hand to provide guidance and assistance when needed. The fishery operates a strict welfare policy to ensure all fish stocks are maintained to the highest standards. Marston Fields has rapidly established itself as one of the UK's largest match angling venues, hosting regular local and national events throughout the year, with weekly competitions offering varying entry criteria to ensure all anglers have fair opportunities to compete for prize money.

Elm offers 36 pegs and is the shallowest lake at the venue with an average depth of just five feet throughout. The lake is specifically stocked with bigger carp, all specimens of 10lb plus, making it the destination for anglers targeting larger fish. Similar tactics to the other lakes work well here, with the method feeder over to the island being particularly effective. Pole fishing in the margins also produces excellent results, with both short and long lines worth exploring. The shallow nature of the lake means fish can be found at all depths depending on conditions and time of year.

Laurels has recently been completely re-modelled to maximise its fishing potential, transforming it into a 'snake lake' design with an average width of 14.5 metres. The central island area has been reconstructed and increased in size to create the new layout. Now featuring 26 pegs, the lake offers 3.5 feet of water down the track, with shallow shelves of 18 inches to 2 feet on both the near and far sides. The lake is well stocked with carp to 8lb, F1s, bream and quality silvers. Pole fishing dominates this water, with anglers catching consistently on top 2+2, up on the far shelf and down at the edges. The best baits tend to be pellet, maggots and corn, with the varied depths and features providing multiple tactical options throughout the day.

The lake also holds a good population of roach, skimmers and a few rudd, providing variety throughout the session. A bomb fished in the middle of the lake is a particularly effective method here, while both long and short pole lines work well with pellet as the main bait. The mixed stock and responsive nature of the lake make it ideal for pleasure fishing and learning match fishing tactics.
