About
Packington Somers Coarse Fishery has been developed from former gravel workings to provide 13 well-established, natural looking lakes and pools set in superb surroundings. Each pool offers diverse sport for both pleasure and match anglers, with the fishery permanently manned and featuring an onsite lodge incorporating a café and tackle shop. The fishery includes major match venues such as Molands (60 pegs with match weights over 100lb), the 8-acre Gearys (40 pegs, carp to 20lb), and Little Gearys (30 pegs with record match weights to 230lb). Additional waters include Anniversaries (24 pegs), the redeveloped Siblings A & B canal-type match lakes (40 pegs combined), Gratuities (16 pegs), and the popular Willow pool (13 pegs, carp to 18lb). Four smaller pleasure pools - Crescent, Alder, Reedy Bay and First Bay - are heavily stocked and ideal for anglers of all abilities. Open from 7am to dusk in summer and daylight hours in winter, the fishery provides ample car parking at several locations with most pools suitable for disabled anglers. Species present include carp to over 22lb, F1 hybrids, tench, bream, roach, perch, crucians, ide and barbel. Day tickets and season permits are available, with the main rules being barbless hooks only, keepnets permitted in matches only, maximum hook size 6, and fishery feed pellet only.
