About
Shatterford Lakes is one of the UK’s premier angling venues, set within 25 acres of picturesque Worcestershire countryside just south of Kidderminster. Originally opened in 1972 as a Wildlife Sanctuary, the site has evolved into a renowned fishery while still retaining an abundance of natural beauty and local wildlife. The complex features six lakes in total, including four exclusive syndicate waters and three public day-ticket pools. All are spring-fed, ensuring excellent water quality and healthy fish stocks. Anglers can expect a diverse range of species, from silver fish such as roach and bream to specimen carp over 38lb and catfish exceeding 100lb. Match anglers will also find rewarding sport, with weights regularly topping 160lb. Shatterford is well suited to both beginners and experienced anglers. The site offers ample facilities, secure access, and expert tuition from resident guide Tom Warrington, making it a great place to learn, improve, or simply enjoy a relaxing session by the water. Rod numbers are limited to prevent overcrowding, and overnight sessions are available for those wanting the full experience. In addition to the fishing, Shatterford also provides two high-quality holiday cottages, sleeping 10 and 12 guests. Finished to a modern standard with private gardens and views across the lakes, they are an ideal choice for families and groups looking to combine a countryside break with first-class fishing.
